So, a week of classes has gone by, and I feel that I should say something about them.

They're going good, I'm enjoying them and so far the work load has not been outrageous. I'm sure this will change in the next few weeks.

Theatre 656- Costume Design.

This is an okay class, I draw characters and make costumes to fit their personalities, what the audience needs to see portrayed, etc. Our first project is a four person family set in any time period. I chose 1820's and am having a bit of fun with it. I have three of four drawn out, only one ready to paint, and one needed completely drawn out still. It's due Wednesday.

Textiles and Clothing Design 370- Fashion Design and Illustration

I'm enjoying this class a lot. More competition and lots of drawing than the other illustration class, but this one is geared toward making portfolios and getting us ready for the CAD classes. We presented our first projects today, a female figure in a simple outfit. I really liked the look of mine. Maybe at some point there will be photographic evidence. It was interesting to see the varying degrees of style and compentency in the other girls. I feel like having seen the range of what the others are capable of, I may actually have a chance.  A decent chance, if I keep up with the work and improve my own style some.

Global Issues 574 or something like that

This one has yet to catch my attention. It's about how globalization has affected the textile and apparel industry and how the world has worked things out so that they function fairly smoothly. The instructor is really new at teaching and so far has simply been lecturing out of the book. I do need to read the book to catch up though, since it didn't come in until yesterday. But with an unskilled lecturer and things I can learn better out of the book, it makes me wish the professor who usually taught this hadn't gone on sabbatical this quarter, as she's an awesome lecturer.

Yoga

Enjoyed it very much, even after the point where I nearly passed out from opening my shoulders and upper back. I hadn't realized how much they had been used to being tight until that happened. I wish it was offered more than the once a week class, it would be more beneficial, I think.

Job hunting continues....that's all I can say about it.

I've been thinking about getting involved with the Department's Fashion Show this year. I need the experience, it would be a good thing to have on a resume,  potential employers will be at the final show and many other good things will come from it. There are a few issues, the show itself is May 30th, a week before finals and only two after Faire, which means my spring quarter would be interesting. That is really one of the big issues is the amount of time...but I have a couple of designs already in my head and the theme is Breast Cancer awareness, celebrating those who survived and remembering those who didn't, as well as donating a bunch of the proceeds to charities. And while I've been very lucky to not have it in the family, it's still something I should support because...well I support my boobs too.

Well....lots to think on and lots to do...so back to work.
