Jun. 15th, 2005 10:20 pmSo, went to work this morning at seven....I hate mornings and I especially hate mornings at Meijers...But hopefully it won't last too much longer. I only worked for four hours but it felt like forever and nothing had really changed. This whole morning was just weird...had a really bad bout of homesickness for Columbus while prepping chickens for the oven. Poor chickens, some of them were really worse for the wear by the time I saw them. Broken wing tips, bruised meat, broken leg joints and squashed into boxes. I'm really glad we raise most of our own chickens...I know they get treated decently. This is what I get for judging poultry for several years in 4-H, I know why there is skin missing on breast meat and why some joints are red or how a carcass should look off the rack...Makes me want to just keep raising my own to eat. Don't trust many other people.
After four hours of tedious boredom, I came home and read for a bit, even though I should have been out dropping off resumes...Yeah, I work against myself at this sort of thing. But I did get an application for a Bakery that was hiring, it's a decent place and well-thought of as it is run by the same family that does my grandmother's hog butchering. The hours are funky, but most bakey's are usually.
I'm also looking through temp agencies tomorrow as I now have decent paper to print out resumes on, not the 'I can see through it' copy paper we usually use. Mom thinks that this is my best bet as they usually hire for office work and my computer skills are decent, though I will have to work on not sounding like a five-year-old on the phone if I end up answering calls. So that is one of the major projects tomorrow, to go to the temps adn see what I can do, drop off teh bakery resume, possibly do laundry or at least clean my room while it is bearable in the attic without a/c. And now to stop with the babbling and possibly get some sleep...we shall see.
