Felt I should mention this, simply because I hadn't thought it would happen.

I have one cousin in the military, we've never been a family for it really, even though both my parents served. Late yesterday, my dad IM's me and tells me he had been shot down in Iraq. It made the papers, apparently it's the first civilian helicopter shot down since we invaded two years ago. Yeah, he was bodyguarding for diplomats, not fighting.

It surprised me how quickly I realized what had happened. It also surprised me how sad I was. I didn't know Steven that well, he's about two years older than me, a little younger maybe as dad had mentioned he wasn't twenty-one yet. His family had already lost their older boy, Michael in a car crash several years ago. Two boys out of a family of three. Damn. And Joshua( I can't recall his name for the life of me at the minute, I'm guessing here.) He's barely older than I am.
