Jan. 5th, 2006 12:41 pmFigured I should at least mention how my classes have been and how the sewing is going.
Monday and Wednesday 9:30 English 220 Intro to Shakespeare.
This will be a fun class. Our professor is from Manchester and that I think, will make it all the more enjoyable. We're reading several of the plays: Richard II, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, King Lear, Coriolanus and the Merchant of Venice. Some of the same people from my Theatre class are here too and so is one of the guys who didn't stay in Guild last year. Maybe I can convince him to rejoin.
1:30 Math 130 Business Math
Meh, it's math, therefore it won't be one of my best classes but this is recitation so I don't think it will be horrible.
Tuesday and Thursday
11:30 Tuesday only Textiles and Clothing 300 Consumer Perspective
Once a week lecture about how Consumers do what they do. It was interesting the first day and I hope it keeps being interesting because it's a freaking long class.
1:30 Math Lecture
See Above plus the Lecturer has an odd accent... Massachussetts I think but it's weird
2:30 Econ 200
Lecture + Recitation in one + boring proff = naptime.
So far all of my classes but for the English are all graded simply by test. The English class has a performance and a paper as well.
I have Fridays off for Work, where I am now a student manager (yay black shirts) and am due a raise. Woot. I also need to buy new work shoes as the old ones are falling apart and I actually have money for them at the moment. That should help with the achy knees.
The corset and high-necked chemise are finished, though I am still debating blackwork around the wrists. I finished faux slash and puffing one side of my bodice last night and hope to do the other side tonight. Then I can actually put it all together. Hoopskirt still needs channels and actual hoops. Next on the list are two skirts and a forepart to attach to the underskirt somehow. I've a coif to make...the design is decided but I still am trying to figure out what to make it out of...was looking at the blue shot gold fabric that I used for slash and poof and am thinking of it, since there will be a lot of it left over. Sleeves are probably going to be dead last of things I make, simply because of the harlequin design and that I don't plan on wearing them to faire. It would be hot. We'll see.
