Mar. 25th, 2005 06:36 pmIt's odd to wake up in your own bed at home and have to take a minute to realize just exactly where you are. It's not the place you've slept in the last four months, there's none of the right noises or lights in the correct places. To have to wait to use the computer because it's in the parent's bedroom and to have to go out in the rain to feed sheep that have been there for nearly two months but are completely new to you.
With hearing about mom and mike thinking about moving again so that we actually have land again to raise the nearly forty sheep we have and with an entire new flock in the shaping with Natural Coloureds (black, true black wool...lovely animals) having been bought this summer, it would be better on our part to have our own land. It sounds like this could be a very profitable thing for us, so I'm not really complaining. Edit: Though now, about ten minutes after I wrote this, mom comes in and says that this plan is on hold for a couple of years at least.
Tomorrow was going to be Easter dinner at Mike's parents but, honestly, with all the stuff I've done over the last week in Fl all I want to do now is sew. I've a bloomer pattern and a pink striped fabric that is yelling rather forcibly at me at the moment while I am trying to remove the foam stabilizer backing off of that rose wool...keeping it wet seems to help keep the foam on the mesh backing and not on the wool. So at the moment there is about seven yards of wool with half of the backing torn off...now if only there was a way to get the adhesive to come off as well...it leaves a funny feel to the back of the wool.
So that is the goal of tomorrow, to get the bloomers done and peel the rest of the backing off of the wool...though I might get ambitious and try to finish that tonight.
