Items of importance on a Monday
Lots of people on my friends lists have been doing lists as posts and since I haven't actually posted since July I thought it might be the easiest way to catch you all up on the various things that have been happening.
1. This weekend was the Library of Congress National Bookfest. We manage character photo lines for the PBS characters. It's one of the few days I'm in DC and I don't see much more than the inside of a tent and lots of sweaty actors and equally sweaty costumes.
2. It was hot. 93 degrees in September. Thank the gods for portables a/c units.
3. I have an agreement with a local reenactment store to create custom 18th century pieces for their customers. I need to touch base with them on this.
4. My sister and her daughter moved to Columbus for school. I've forgotten how much energy little kids have.
5. We went to O-ren on Labor Day. Probably the only day we get to go this year. Jeff had people interested in custom work. Now if only they would contact him
6. Dr Horrible's Sing-a-long Blog the full length musical production is postponed to December. We are now currently fundraising to the the theatre up and running to be able to put on the show.
7. This involves a cabaret-style show revue in October.
8. One of our cats most likely has cancer. We took her in for what we hoped was just a reoccurance of a bladder infection. We're waiting for a biopsy to confirm.

It's Erzuli, which has left Jeff a mess and we won't have the results until probably Thursday. It's very likely it is cancer, so it looks like we will have to put her to sleep.

My continuing love and condolences to you both regarding Erzuli. We are here if you need us.
Bookfest and cat
Second, I missed bookfest this year. I usually collect the posters. If you picked one up and would be willing to sell it, I'd be so interested as I have all but that one and the first year. I am bugged not having a complete collection. Email dahoov2@cox.net
I have heard the event was hot and people are still complaining about organization of the lines and about how long they were, but let's face it, other than the first two years or so, they've been complaining about that every year!!!! There's never perfect weather either. It's been raining the prior year or two, fridgid cold one year, super buggy (mosquito) another year... but I love the event and tough it out. I hope if you go back you get to see something. Right off the mall is the Smithsonian and on the other side of the mall is the Smithsonian Castle. Of course the Washington Monument and Capitol round out the other two ends; the Hirshorn museum is next to the Castle... it's all great stuff to visit without having to walk too far or get in car. Good luck!

AS for the Bookfest, all I see is the inside of a tent. I'm lucky if I get a PBS t-shirt. Yes, it was hot and dusty and very crowded, but most festival in September are that way.
How did you find this post? I'm curious because I have no idea who you are.
